Ball Club, Minnesota

traditional Ojibwe lacrosse sticks
1,714 miles

March 10 – Ball Club received its name from a specific type of Ojibwe lacrosse stick.  The majority of the community is populated by Native Americans of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.

Ball Club hosts a powwow in the summer, and festive photos are available to view online.  But my virtual travel policy has been to avoid showing real people at a specific event, violating their privacy and giving the impression that I was attending that event & present with them.  So I show their modern logo instead.

The headwaters of the Mississippi River are nearby (closer to Wilton), and it flows gently around Ball Club on both the east and west side.
